A Simplified Hardware/Software Installation

Installing the Adapter Card

Refer to the computer’s manual for information on installing

card-cage accessories.

High voltages inside the computer present a safety

hazard. Make sure the power is OFF before removing

the cover.

This LAN adapter card is for use only with IBM AT

or compatible UL listed personal computers that

have installation instructions detailing installation of

card-cage accessories. Installation should be

performed with precautions to prevent damage to

static-sensitive components.

Install the AT-1700 interface adapter card in an expansion slot in

your computer, as per the manufacturer’s instructions. Note that

this is a 16-bit (long) card, and will not install in an 8-bit (short)

expansion slot.

If your card has the optical fiber connections, card installation

may be made easier by slipping the protective plastic caps off the

optical connectors.
